Hello! I’m Emma Berry (she/her), a Chicago-based theatrical artist specializing in lighting design, with additional experience in scenic design and directing. I earned my BA in Theatre Design and Technology from Columbia College Chicago and enjoy collaborating across disciplines to bring stories to life. While based in Chicago, I am always open to opportunities that involve travel.

My journey in theatre began with a fascination for the way stories come alive on stage and how every detail contributes to a world the audience can step into. Over the years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work on productions at venues like the Miami Acting Company, Westchester Cultural Arts Center, and ART ON Theatre Collaboration. A driving force behind much of my work is a desire to showcase female-driven narratives that challenge, inspire, and reflect the complexities of identity and experience.

Outside of production work, I’m deeply passionate about arts education and mentorship. I’ve helped develop technical theatre programs in many schools and have taught classes at over ten schools introducing students, especially young women, to the endless possibilities of theatrical storytelling.
